Out Of The Blue

Out Of The Blue is a song that I loved from the moment I first heard it in the old rehearsal room of the band, back in the years. Although I initially wanted to make a music video for it, we ended up working with the guys

on two other great songs from this album. But I always had it in my mind,

envisioning a different format than the classic performance clip.

When we were forced to stay at home during the first lockdown in 2020, I started working on an idea for the song, creating a video with a series of still images, and a vertical orientation specifically for mobile viewing,

using the stop-motion technique. Stuck in our homes where mobile screens were the only connection

to the outside world, I thought about how amazing it would be to transport ourselves to different places

and worlds through these screens. That's how the story of Zee was born.

During the autumn of 2022, I started experimenting with creating AI-generated images through Midjourney.

And it didn't take long for me to make the connection with the Out Of The Blue project, replacing stills with AI images. From January until early March 2023, I had gathered over 5,000 designs, writing prompts related to the lyrics of the song and its story, but also related to other songs from this and the previous album of the band.

The style I chose for all the designs is a retro futurism style, inspired by old posters of vintage sci-fi movies

and comics that I love, that is a perfect fit for the story of Zee.

Subsequently, these designs went through initial processing using Photoshop and Lightroom to prepare them for the final video editing stage along the song.
